Student Health Insurance

The University of Nebraska has partnered with UnitedHealthcare to offer UnitedHealthcare StudentResources: An affordable, convenient, medical, mental health, dental and prescription insurance plan for students.

Enrollment

International Students & Graduate Assistants

International students and graduate assistantship recipients are automatically enrolled each semester. Once insurance has been assigned, it will appear as a charge on your MyRED account. Your insurance card will become available to you after you complete the "ACCEPT your Insurance" instructions below. Please see "Health Insurance Cards" later in this page for more details.

If you have other qualifying insurance, and wish to CANCEL (waive) the insurance assigned to you by UNL, you must take action to cancel the insurance. If you do not successively cancel the student health insurance, you will be responsible for the cost of the premium added to your student account balance. This must be completed in both Fall and Spring semesters.

Dependents

Dependents may be enrolled in the insurance plan through the student’s UHCSR My Account portal once enrollment is complete. For students automatically enrolled, you must ACCEPT the insurance to add dependents. For more information, contact the UnitedHealthcare StudentResources campus representative.
